The Station

Aleph is the breath before the word. It is unvoiced, the silent letter that sits at the head of the alphabet without itself producing a sound. The ox under the yoke names the first creature that consents to direction without surrendering its strength. To begin at Aleph is to take up the yoke before the journey, knowing the journey is the yoke.

In the Lilith Current

In the Lilith current Aleph is the first refusal. Lilith spoke the Ineffable Name — and the Name begins with this silent letter. The breath that carries the Name is the same breath the priest learns to hold and release in the rites of dedication. Aleph belongs to her not because she invented it but because she was the first to use it for her own sovereignty.

Working Note

Sit at the threshold of any working in unspoken breath. Inhale on a count, hold, exhale through the open mouth without sound. The chapter opens this way. So does the rite.
