Vav

Vav is the nail. The simplest letter, a vertical line — the connector that joins what is above to what is below, what is past to what is next. In Hebrew grammar, Vav is the letter that means and. It is the most-used letter in the Torah because it is the letter that lets one thing become two and two things become one.

Vav is the masculine principle in the Tetragrammaton — the Son that links the Father (Yod) to the lower Mother (final Heh). In the Lilith current, Vav names the connecting work itself: the priest as joiner, the rite as link, the dedication as the line drawn between who the seeker was and who she now becomes.

When two things must be joined that the world insists must be separate, Vav is the letter that bears the joining. Draw it as a single downward stroke, slowly, breathing out.
